The Diploma of Business Management will increase your professional value through acquiring both an understanding of global, national and local pressures on business and a capability to respond professionally and effectively to those pressures. It provides you with concepts, frameworks, analytical, problem solving and research skills to enable them to operate confidently and effectively in a global environment characterised by constant change and requiring flexible and innovative responses at a professional level.


The course generally runs for 12 months but is design to be offered in various modes depending on the need of the student. In some contexts it will be run in short intensive blocks supplemented with online learning.  The amount of time for study including class training and directed self-learning is 12 hours per week over 32 weeks or 7.5 hours over 52 weeks.

Course Content

8 units will cover a number of core management areas – the below is a sample of subjects:

  • Manage meetings
  • Plan and manage conferences
  • Manage workforce planning
  • Manage recruitment, selection and induction processes
  • Manage programs that promote personal effectiveness
  • Manage projects
  • Manage risks
  • Manage personal work priorities and professional development


Course material will be delivered by a team of qualified trainers from the “Leadership Collective”, under the supervision on ABLE training – a registered RTO (Registered Training Organisation) accredited for VET (Vocational Educations and Training) by the Australian Government – ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) www.asqa.gov.au.  The course has international recognition through ASQA agreements with other international agencies www.aqf.edu.au.

Assessment Requirements

Assessment is ongoing through observation of practical skills and oral questioning by the assessor. Learners will be required to complete assignments and maintain logbooks for assessment purposes. Students must maintain a logbook.
